Floor Load Capacity Upgrade (industrial facilities, manufacturing, warehouses)

Need to add a heavy machine or a new production line, but the existing slab can’t take the load? We strengthen floors using STATIpile driven micropiles and steel load-spreading plates – fast, with minimal demolition and short downtime.

When our solution fits

  • Installation of heavy machines / presses / lines
  • Increasing load capacity under racking and mezzanines
  • Local floor issues (deflection, cracking, settlement)
  • Change of use and higher imposed loads

Our solution

  1. Assessment & design – site survey, design of pile quantity and layout.
  2. Core drilling – openings through the floor slab and sub-base concrete.
  3. Installing STATIpile micropiles – driven vertically down to competent strata.
  4. Grouting – piles are integrated into the structure with cement grout.
  5. Steel load-spreading plates – transfer machine loads into the piles; connection via threaded pile heads if required.
  6. Finish – concrete make-good / surface repair, ready for machine installation.

Many operations are done from slab level. If needed, we locally remove concrete and work from the foundation level.

Why STATIpile for floors

  • Minimal intervention in the existing structure, no full-area demolition.
  • Fast installation, short production downtime.
  • Targeted strengthening only where needed (beneath machine feet).
  • Accurate load transfer through steel plates into deeper competent layers.
  • Cost savings versus full floor replacement.

FAQs

Do we have to demolish the whole floor?
No. Usually local core drilling is enough; full demolition is rare.

How long is the downtime?
Typically days, depending on scope and access. We often work in phases to keep production running.

How is the machine connected to the “strengthening”?
Via steel load-spreading plates and threaded pile heads – robust, repeatable, serviceable.

What if the ground is poor?
We drive micropiles into deeper competent strata; the design reflects local geology.

Can you prove it really works?
Yes. We also offer wireless monitoring (tilt, cracks) before and after – live charts and alarms.
