The only compliant solution when steel anchoring is prohibited

When spraying concrete (shotcrete / torkret) over carbon fibre (CFRP) or glass fibre (GFRP) mesh reinforcement, the use of ordinary steel anchors is strictly prohibited. StatiCAL supplies ETA-certified stainless steel anchoring – the same system successfully applied in Italian practice.

The Problem: Steel + Non-Steel Mesh = Non-Compliance

Shotcrete over conventional steel mesh (karisit) presents no special anchoring challenge – standard rebar pins are perfectly adequate. However, once a project moves to CFRP or GFRP reinforcement, the rules change entirely:

  • Standard steel anchoring is forbidden by applicable standards – galvanic corrosion will degrade the connection.
  • Specialists in non-steel reinforcement will reject or redesign projects with incorrect anchorage.
  • Wrong anchor selection can compromise the structural integrity and certification of the entire construction.
